Who we are

Bridge of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping distressed families through transition. Transition can mean many things; families leaving homeless and domestic violence shelters and recovery homes, families facing crisis, the elderly poor, single parents and the refugee community in San Diego.

As well as reaching out to our local community, Bridge of Hope works to provide furniture, clothing and food to families who are sent to us from about 20 different agencies and organizations in San Diego. We work with many case workers each week, who are referring their clients to us.  We are currently serving food to about 1300 families per month.

Sheri Started Bridge of Hope after working with women in a recovery home and seeing the need for  providing both community and practical help, becoming a Bridge to help families who are starting over, be successful on their own.  Bridge of Hope was started in 2005, in her garage, then moved to a 500 sq. ft building at a church in Clairemont.  After one year, she felt called to move to the City Heights area where she met her first refugee family from Uganda. From there Bridge of Hope has grown to become what it is today.  Sheri is married to Brewster Briggs and has been blessed with five children.
